Donating For Welfare Of The Youth – The Best Charity

June 14th, 2011 posted by admin

The Dalai Lama has contributed $100,000 to the 20th Man fund, a youth charity in Australia. The audience was stunned into silence when his Holiness made his magnificent offer. Apart from the amount involved, it is very pertinent to consider why the spiritual leader of Tibet has made such a huge offer to a youth charity.

Mankind has made a significant progress in the past hundred years. More than 500 years ago, the horse carriage was considered the fastest mode of travel. Today, we have made advancement and technologies help us travel at amazing speeds. All these developments will come to naught if the future of mankind is not protected.

Emphasis on materialism and technology has resulted in many benefits. However, it has also created a world filled with violence, hatred and drugs. Unfortunately, youngsters are the primary target of these harmful substances and notions.

The money will help more than 100 students come back to school and get decent education. This is one area where demand for charity will never die. For every individual passing out, there is another individual in need of education for a decent and dignified life.

We all live a selfish life focusing on ourselves and our families. The question whether opting for red diesel England to save money on diesel costs is given more importance than the question of securing the life of youngsters in our country. Somewhere, our priorities have gone wrong and such gestures by spiritual leaders help us understand the truly important things in life.

This does not mean we need to give such huge amounts. However, we have to get together and keep contributing until we make a difference.
